Memorial Photo Collage Craft – Letter B

February 4th will be six months since Bobby has been gone.  Honestly, it doesn’t feel like that to me at all.  One of the things I always worried about when my older boys were little, was them forgetting about their Wela when she passed.  So with Truett, I want to make sure he’s surrounded by stories and photos of his Pop.  The hardest decision I had to make when purchasing the letter for this memorial photo collage, was, ‘do I go with B for Bobby Bentle or do I go with P for Pop’.  I ultimately with B since it reflects the family name. I’m sure Truett won’t see that as a distraction as he looks at this, and when he gets older, he’ll understand it all.

You’ve probably seen this with the larger letters but I wanted something that Truett could carry around, and eventually pack with him when he leaves home.  This ‘B’ is just under 6″ tall and perfect for Truett’s little hands.  My letter was less than $1 at Walmart craft department, as well as, my Tacky Glue. I already had the Mod Podge Sealer spray but it was Just under $3.  I printed my own pictures, thumbnail size, but you could also use templates found online. I normally print all my photos from Walmart so that I can shop at one store and get it all.

I highly recommend you paint or stain your letter first.  If you want it stained but don’t want to mess with all that, you could use a rag and some black coffee.  Just rub into the wood and it makes for a beautiful look.  I did not do this and ended up using a marker to fill in……

I trimmed photos down and wasn’t perfectly straight on them but honestly, I didn’t worry about those little things. I was focused on the overall look and the meaning behind it.  Be sure and lay down the pictures first and play with them to make them fit as good as they can.  Trim after glued.  Have fun with it y’all!!
